RustyHAMA

RustyHAMA is a native Home Assistant dashboard for fixed Android devices from API 17 (Android 4.2). The currently tested combination is app 0.1.17 with integration 0.1.14. The app operates exclusively with the rustyhama custom integration. It delivers configuration, required HA states, typed commands, Assist, cameras, provider access, media and sensors over a device-specific HTTPS connection.

Current architecture

The app pairs with an HA URL and an eight-digit one-time code or QR code. It stores a revocable device credential in private storage excluded from backup. For an unknown certificate it displays the current certificate fingerprint but, after confirmation, stores only the more stable SHA-256 public-key pin. A routing override and an explicitly enabled insecure TLS exception remain available for isolated legacy devices.

Feature coverage

Included are themes, tabs, grids, badges, conditions, nested grids, history and graphs, calendar editing, weather, media groups, screensaver, Immich photo frames, the Music Assistant catalogue, voice button and all native widgets. A real Assist satellite, HA camera entities, an optional media player, device sensors and complete HA-panel configuration are also provided. New revisions are validated, applied atomically without restarting the app, and acknowledged.
